#1: 365 verses saying "Fear Not" Author: HeatherM, Posted: Wed Aug 29, 2007 6:12 pm ---- I've heard it over and over again, so many times.... even quoted in the movie "Facing the Giants" and I've heard it in a sermon....a pastor made a huge point of saying that in the KING JAMES VERSION of the bible, it says 365 times "DO NOT FEAR" .... people have quoted it in their blogs... I've heard Rick Warren get attributed with saying it... but where did it come from? Does anyone have a list? Because if you do a search, while the word "fear" appears 557 times (according to this search tool; over 600 times on another), using a search with several different translations and several different variations of the term, I STILL only came up with less than 200 verses! Anyone have an idea?

I searched for the words "fear not" in the website Bible gateway, in the KJV I only came across 62 verses, but you have to remember that there are many way's of saying do not fear, such as "fear not," my question is, why is this so important to you, why does it matter how many times it is repeated, God gives u an instruction, this doesn't make it more important just because it's repeated many times...
I hope you'r relationship with God grows stronger every day
#3: Re: 365 verses saying "Fear Not" Author: HeatherM, Posted: Thu Sep 06, 2007 6:51 am ---- Don't worry, my faith's not resting on how many times it says it or not.... but I'm writing a devotional about it, and since my own research came up short, I was hoping maybe someone else knew the source.
And like I said earlier, I looked up every variation of the phrase, including "do not be afraid" "without fear" etc... as well as using 4 different translations.... I just find it strange that people would quote that (especially the preacher in the sermon) without ever having verified it.
