Sad Please pray for me to quit smoking. I need to quit. There are so many things I need to do. I work and attend college full time. I'm a single mom of 4, although, they are adults except my 17 year old son. I really need to know what Gods want me to do. I've been studying with LDS, but I don't know if that's the right way to go. Please help me with as many prayers as you can.

Crystal,

God is always telling us what to do through His Word. It is we who do not want to listen. Please keep reading this and read your scripture.

We all have the same problem and it is the war between the flesh and the spirit and we cannot reach God through actions of the flesh. The world is throwing as much flesh at us as it can do, pray to God to help turn your eyes away from that.

There is also a step we must take and that is repentance. The act of repentance is different from remorse. Remorse is just a sorrow of what we have done and then we return to the same thing. Repentance is a 180 degree turn away and not going back to what we have done. This takes perseverance and is only accomplished with the help of the Holy Spirit in us.

We are to be imitators of Christ. To do that we begin by reading His words and understanding what He is telling us. Love one another.

I will pray that you find a scripture filled church of loving people but remember, it is you who must choose to walk with God and begin shunning the things of the world such as smoking, drinking to excess, partying.

This doesn't happen overnight, just one step at a time.

If you have asked Christ to come into your life, you are now a chosen vessel of His, being fashioned to give Him honor.

King David knew who His God was. David was always writing poems to Him in the form of Psalms and he writes in 139:13;

For You formed my inward parts; you covered me in my mother's womb.
I will praise You, for I am wonderfully made; Marvelous are Your works, and that my soul knows very well.

You might seek out this psalm and read all of it.

It finishes in verses 23 and 24;

Search me O God and know my heart;
Try me and know my anxieties;
And see if there is any wicked way in me,
And lead me in the way everlasting.
